2012 Latin American Robotics Championship

Nano Days Expo 2012 at Plaza Las Américas Mall in Hato Rey, PR

Team 2252A was composed of Nycol Cotto (mechanic), Enid Rodríguez (coach), Frances Ramos (programmer), and Osvaldo Rivera (driver). This team was competing in the Middle School Advance division during this Season. Their robot had a U base. This base had two omni wheels and two 4'' wheels conected to two 269 motors. The gripper was formed of four sets of sliders (linear slides). Two of these sets had 269 motors and the other two had 393 motors. With those sets the "box" went up and down with two shafts that had four "intake rollers" powered with 269 motors.

This strange, but efficent, design won two Design Awards during the Season in the Regionals at Morovis, and in the Latin American Championship at Ponce.

Team 2252B was composed of Hector Millán (mechanic), Ernesto Ramos (coach), Javier Ortiz (programmer), and Carlos Ruiz (driver). This team was competing in the Middle School Advance division during this Season. Their robot had a U base with four omni wheels connected to gears with two 269 motors. The gripper was composed of gears with four 393 motors. The intake had two tank treads with flaps collocated horizontally. That way they could take about two barrels or balls.

This team qualified for the PRIOR Latin American Championship along Team 2252A.

Team 2252C was composed of Julián Benitez (mechanic), Luis Ramírez (coach), Gabriel González (programmer), and Obed Candelaria (driver). This team was competing in the Middle School Advance division during this Season. Their robot had a U base with two 4'' wheels and two omni wheels powered by four 269 motors. The gripper was formed of two 393 motors conected to two sets of gears which allows it to go up. The intake had four 6'' wheel legs. With these, it could grab the game elements which were pushed up or down with idler wheels and tank treads with two 393 motors.
