Team 2252 was founded in 2009 in The Specialized School of Science, Math and Technology, also known as CIMATEC. With the first two representants in Middle School 2252A & 2252B CIMATEC gained a lot of popularity in the area of robotics. This teams participated in VEX Clean Sweep competitions winning Tournament Finalist in PRIOR's Technology Challenge and also, they got to the VEX World Championship celebrated in Texas.
This year the team made the first robotics try-outs so that every student of CIMATEC who wanted to participate in the robotics program could give it a try. We had 3 teams: 2252A, 2252B & 2252C. This teams participated in PRIOR's Technology Challenge celebrated in Carolina, Puerto Rico and they also got to participate in the first PRIOR's Latinamerican Competition celebrated in Puerto Rico.
Still having 3 teams CIMATEC was recognized by the variety of designs and innovation. This was demonstrated in PRIOR's Technology Challenge celebrated in Morovis, Puerto Rico and the Latinamerican Competition celebrated in Ponce, Puerto Rico. CIMATEC won a Design Award in both of the competitions that they had the oportunity to participate. Also, this year CIMATEC participated in the famous NanoDays activity that took place in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
This was one of the best seasons for CIMATEC. First, we had 7 teams having lots of representation for the school. This year was the most abundant in terms of awards, we won 1 Excellence Award, 1 Tournament Champion, 1 Tournament Finalist, 4 Design Awards and 1 Energy Award making a total of 8 prizes in one season. Finally, Team 2252G from the Middle School Rookie division made it to the VEX World Championship, making it the second time that 2252 has a team participating.
This season Team 2252 had 2 teams in middle school and 2 teams in high school. We won 3 Excellence Awards, 2 Tournament Finalist and 2 Design Awards. With a total of 7 awards in this season, Team 2252C from High School made it to the VEX World Championship, making it the third time that 2252 has a team participating in the Worlds. Besides all of this, Team 2252C also made the 2nd Place in the Promote Award online challenge.
During this season Team 2252 had 2 teams in Middle School and 3 teams in High School. We won 3 Design Awards, 1 Tournament Champion, 1 Mentor of the Year Award, and our very first Sportsmanship Award. In the Online Challenges, Team 2252C's Promote Award got 3rd place and one of their pictures won the Photography Challenge. It was a very exciting season. However, none of the teams were able to qualify to the World Championships in Kentucky.
This season Team 2252 had 3 teams in Middle School and 2 teams in High School. So far we've won 4 Design Awards and 1 Excellence Award. We hope we're able to continue with this great performance so Team 2252 has at least 2 representations in the World Championships.
